Girardet Vineyard
Philippe and Bonnie Girardet established their vineyard in 1971 on hillside slopes reminiscent of vineyard land in Philippe’s native country of Switzerland. Their site is southwest of Roseburg on a sunny slope on the borderline between the cool coastal climate and the warm interior Umpqua Valley. The shale hillside produces intensely-flavored wines of a delicate yet luscious quality. Today it totals over 30 acres of varieties which have proven over the years to thrive on the site, many of which are now “Old Vines”. Secondgeneration Winemaker Marc Girardet has been trained by his father Philippe and is continuing the family tradition of winemaking in a handcrafted style, creating wines with depth and grace.
