Jaime Saiz de la Hoya, owner and viticulturist bought in 2001 some of Ribera del Dueros finest parcel and some of Rueda´s oldest vineyards to make truly stand out wines, all bottled in an equally stand out bottle to push the limits of these two outstanding regions. Loess began the project right from the terroir, acquiring six select vineyards in Roa, Burgos. These vineyards are planted in soils classified as “Excellent” in the zoning carried out by Technical University of Madrid (UPM) for the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin Regulatory.
