Belhara Estate is a family winery nestled in the Uco Valley Mendoza of Argentina, The estate is comprised of 3 estate vineyards with altitude between 1100 and 1400 meters. Belhara Estate focuses on crafting artisanal red blends and single vineyard wines with their 180 hectares of planted vineyards.
Stephen Huse, owner and Director of Winemaking received his formal training at the University of Bordeaux obtaining a Diploma of Enology as well as a Master of Science in Winemaking & Viticulture. He assumed winemaking position in winery such as Chateau Margaux and Mouton Rothschild, followed in Napa Valley at Harlan Estate and Merryvale Vineyards. The vineyards are located in the appellations of Tupungato and Altamira, which include old planting of up to 80 years for some of our Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Bonarda. The vineyard soils are composed of alluvional deposits over limestone terraces. These soils are ideal for red varietals and provide our wines balance as well as complexity. The Vinification process is carried out in the traditional style, with fermentation in small concrete vats with native yeasts. The aging is continued in barrel with minimalist intervention to respect the integrity of the wines.
