Linton Park

The magnificent Linton’s winery was founded by French Huguenot, Louis Fourie in 1699. Situated on the slopes of Groenberg (Wellington), the winery is over 500m high and enjoys a distinctly different climate than the surrounding region, resulting in a unique terroir. Vineyards are planted on the slopes of Groenberg, lending diversity to the different varietals (Groenberg is so named because its unique location stands in lush contrast to the area). With the higher rainfall, rich soils and moderate summer temperatures, a special micro-climate is created in which the winery grows their grapes. The vines are planted in a variety of Oakleaf soils which, together with the cool elevated peaks, enable the winery to select the most suitable terroir for each varietal.

Linton’s Winery covers 294 hectares of which 100 hectares are planted with noble varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Pinotage, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The winemaking team is led by Cellar master Hennie Huskisson, a winemaker with International (Chateau Margaux) and local (Fairview, Nederburg) Experience.
