Chateau de Chausse-Organic

Nestled in the St. Tropez peninsula in France’s Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, the stunning and pristine Château de Chausse estate lies just 1.25 miles from the Mediterranean Sea. Château de Chausse benefits from a sunny Mediterranean climate moderated by its proximity to the coast and the surrounding forests. Sandy clay and schist soils dominate vineyards planted to Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Grenache, and Rolle (or Vermentino) The grapes are manually harvested and carefully selected. The winery produces 66,000 bottles annually from estate-grown grapes. The vineyard is in the process of becoming completely organic by 2018. The property was originally acquired in 1986 by Yves and Roseline Schelcher who worked with Laurence Berlemont, a well-known Oenologist in the Provence wine community. They enjoyed much success and received many awards for their work. They also sold to several Michelin star restaurants, mostly in Paris. Charles S. Cohen real-estate developer, and international film distributor and producer purchased the estate in 2016 and started major renovation and restoration of the Bastide or main house and wine cellar
