The history of winemaking in this family dates back to 1656 when wine was mentioned the first time. In 1978 Günter took over the responsibility from his dad and started to change the quality standards from quantity oriented winemaking to high-quality winemaking. After nearly 2 decades of winemaking and growing vineyard area the winery had to decide for a new cellar. The idea was to combine the typical old cellar, which is craved into the deep layer of Loess with a new cellar that can meet all the requirements for state-of-the-art winemaking. So, in 2003 the new cellar was inaugurated with the first harvest. The cellar futures 3 floors and the grapes take the way of gravity to turn from grapes to mash and finally from juice to wine.
